Report writing.

A report is a brief account of an event or incident or happening based on eye witness that has already taken place.  A report usually represents the firsthand information collected by a person and it is in written format and in organized mannerThe report helps in recording the events of importance that occur in our area, Country or World.

Points to Remember:

1) Identify your audience: You must first know who will be reading your report. Is it for senior citizen, young people, school children, or for all people. It is an important step for you because you will come to know what tone you will be using, what to include when writing it.

2) What is the purpose: You must ask question to yourself, 
what are you trying to convey. See weather the information you are writing will give the clear picture.

3) 
Report Writing Format Outline:

a) Title : The title of your report should be clear in its wording, short, and catchy. It must say exactly what the report is about.

b) Mention the place, date, time and other relevant facts about the event.

c) Introduction:  An introduction describes about your purpose for writing the report. It should be based on headline. It should Include information collected from the people around [what happened, when and where ] or affected by the event, and its outcome.

d) 
Body: The body of your report is where all the information are put together. You must include the information you are conveying means [ describe the situation before, during and after the event] with the report.  Use bullet points, it will help your audience to understand better. Use simple language. Stick to the facts only. 

e) Conclusion: Close your report with a good conclusion. It depends on the purpose of the report.

4) 
Use professional language: You must give Clear idea to the reader. Write in reported speech. Do not give your personal view or opinion. Write in past tense. You should not use of [I, we, you at the beginning of a sentence], use only third person. Write in a less formal and more descriptive manner.

5) You must present your ideas in such a way that the report should be interesting to read. Be as clear as possible.

School, organized an adult literacy camp in BKC ground. Write a report on the camp for your school newsletter. You are Mr. Amit, Chairman.

An adult literacy camp was organized by Sanskar School, in the BKC ground yesterday for giving education to those adults, who have not gone to school at all. These activities were carried out by teachers of the school.

he camp began with the welcome speech by the chief guest, Mr. Anil, human activist. There were 600 people in the camp. They were divided into different groups according to their age.

Pen, pencil, books were distributed freely to these people. Teachers
taught them to read and write. Desks were provided to them. Projectors were also been installed. They were taught the basics of cleanliness, hygiene.

The chief guest applauded for the work done by teachers of Sanskar School. There was an atmosphere of learning and growing together. There were many others who felt the need of education.

Mumbai, 24 May 2021.

Fire accidents are the worst disasters. A major fire broke out during Diwali Mela celebrations in a slum area of Kandivali[west] yesterday evening. The cause of the fire was a temporary firecrackers market set up on the occasion.

Many poor vendors and factory workers used to stay in that area. More than 300 hutments were gutted and many residents rendered homeless in a fire. Nearly 100 people got severed burns, 50 died due to burns. Eyewitnesses said that all of a sudden a rocket fell on the heap of crackers at a stall. Within seconds the fire took the form of big ball-fire. It engulfed the whole area. The people ran out of the market and saved their lives.

Twenty fire engines rushed to the spot, even neighbours joined their hands with firefighters and worked tirelessly to put out the fire. The fire was brought under control after more than five hours. Poisonous smoke enveloped the sky. Immediately after the flames were doused, the locals rushed in to search for their belongings.

BMC officers opened the class rooms of  nearby schools to give temporary shelter to the victims. An official inquiry has been ordered by the Mayor of the city, an official spokesman confirmed.

An alert citizen yesterday ran and caught a young man who snatched a bag containing Rupees 1,00,000 from an elderly woman who just came out of a bank in Malad [west].

The police said that around 9 a.m., Mrs. Mehta , 
an elderly woman, came out of Axis Bank after withdrawing Rupees 1,00,000. As she was about to sit in car, a man in his twenties asked her for address, he told her that he was new to that area. As she told him the address, the youth snatched the bag and ran away. When Mrs. Mehta raised an alarm, the man who were nearby chased and caught the youth. He was handed over to the police.

The suspect was living in near by slum areas. The police congratulated the man who caught the suspect by his quick action.

On 19 August in 2016, PV Sindhu became the first Indian badminton player. to win Olympics silver medal. That historic medal win laid the foundation for a stronger badminton setup in India. P. V. Sindhu and coach Pullela Gopichand were given a hero's welcome and were feted with a parade over an open deck double-decker bus to celebrate the grand achievement.

Miss Sindhu won her first superseries title at the 2016 China Open. She won a medal at every world championships, with the exception of 2015. She is just the second woman after Zhang Ning to win five or more medals at the world championships. She represented India at the 2016 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Indian badminton player to reach a final. She was honoured with Padma Bhushan Award, Padma Shri Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and Arjuna Award.

An Economic Times report published that she is second only to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli when it comes to earnings from brand endorsements in 2017. With earnings of US$8.5 million and $5.5 million respectively, she made the Forbes list of Highest-Paid Female Athletes in 2018 and 2019.

15 people killed on the spot while 10 passenger was seriously injured when a bus rammed into the compound wall on S.V. Road near Malad on Monday afternoon. The impact of

Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle after its breaks failed. The accident caused a jam for over two hours on the road. Currently all the injured are undergoing treatment in Malad hospital. Moreover, the death toll from the crash is expected to rise due to the severity of accident. 

Locals also cooperated and helped to remove injured people. Police are investigating the case to find out what is the exact caused the accident. An inquiry has been ordered by the Commissioner  of the police, an official spokesman confirmed.

Official of National Disaster Response Force (N.D.R.F) said that 50 people were pulled out from debris. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospital for treatment. People from nearby building also came forward to help. The search for the victims buried under the debris is still on. 

Prime Minister and Chief Minister tweeted their condolence to the families of the victims of Kandivali building collapse and assured that all the necessary help will be given to the affected. An inquiry has been ordered by Mayor,  an official spokesman confirmed.

At least 25 child labourers who were forced to work were rescued by Anti Child Labour Cell from dangerous Sion based firework factory on Tuesday. The minors, who are mostly from all parts of India, were made to work for more than 16 hours by the factory owners. They were then taken to hospital for medical check-ups.  Those who was fit were send to their home towns. Most of the children were mentally tortured. 

The police arrested the factory owners on Friday. The children told police that the factory owner used to wake them up at 6.00 a.m. by beating them. They use to work till 10.00 p.m.  Then they use to get dinner. They use to sleep together in small room. Wages were given as little as Rupees 100 per day. All the children were suffering from malnutrition. Most of the children were found to have contracted asthma, eye disease and TB. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police said that they will put Child Labour Act against factory owner. The whole area was been sealed. The licenses granted to this fireworks units differ depending on the nature of work involved, the crackers produced and the ingredients used. Hence licenses of this fireworks factory will be suspended for flouting safety norm, said one of the officers.

NGO arranged a blood donation camp on 19th April 2021.  The camp was organized in the college premises of the Centre and doctors from A.A. Hospital were invited for the camp. Corporator form Malad has announced an incentive for those who would donate their blood. The timing of the camp have been set up from 10.00 a.m to 4.p.m. 

All the donors were given a free medical check - up before they donated blood. NGO founder Mr. Amit said considering the scarcity of blood in blood banks in city, their NGO has started a series of blood donation camp across the city. There were twenty doctors in charge of actual procedure. All the blood donors were given food coupon from nearby restaurant. Their camp got good response. 

Local Corporator thanked all the people as this programme was a big successful. He said, "The Blood You Donate Gives Someone Another Chance At Life. One Day That Someone May Be A Close Relative, A Friend, A Loved One Or Even You. Next camp will be held on 10th August."

Arts and Crafts competition was recently organised by A.V. Education society at B.M.C. ground in Borivali. This was 7th year of competition. 850 students from various schools participated in competition. The A.V. Education society has initiated this art competition to identify and reward promising talent and to bring artists and their work into the limelight and appreciate their art. 

This activity motivated children to express their views and explore their creativity through their art work. Students filled magic with their colours in Painting competition. Some students had made useful articles from waste materials. Children thought about the environment in an appreciative and sensitive way in hand drawn artwork competition.  All entrants received a participation prize, with 25 of the top entries receiving special awards.

Each and every children was happy in this competition. Children who was awarded clicked photos along with their parents after they got prizes. It was one of the memorable event for children.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry organised and conducted a free dental check - up camp at S.S. School English medium high school on 6th June 2021. This dental check - up was conducted for students as well as parents. Over 450 students along with their parents had their teeth checked up by Doctors. X-ray was free. Medicines and treatment was provided at 50% subsidized rates.

Doctors also guided patients about the food intake and about the daily routine that patients should follow to prevent dental disorders. They also told the students not to eat chocolates and junk foods which were bad for teeth.  They spoke to the students about the importance of oral and dental care and explained in detail about the root cause of the dental and oral health problems.

The school staff and children thanked the dentists for rendering their selfless service to the school. The camp turned out to be very beneficial for students.

Two thief on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from the neck of a woman in M.N. colony on Saturday morning in Mulund. This is the sixth incident on chain snatching in M.N. colony happened this month. 

According to police, Mrs. Mishra from Delhi came to meet her relatives in M.N. colony. When on Saturday morning, she along with her cousin sister went for jogging. Two people on motorcycle came from behind and snatched gold chain from her neck. They fled away immediately after the incident. Passers-by rushed to help that woman who had fallen on the road. Police suspect that the group of chain-snatchers is same who had done previous crime. Police is looking for them of these crimes. Just four days before a purse was snatched from an old lady who got down from the city bus. 

Police have put barricades on the road and is checking every motorbikes. They have also warned jewelers about it. 

Will this ever end? Will the people ever get their hard earned money back?
